"""Write a column description with Claude from your business glossary, check it with plain code, and publish only
what the column's owner approves.

For each column of a table Claude gets the glossary, the terms your stewards linked to that column and a profile
of the column (blank share, distinct values, and the values themselves only for short code columns), and returns
a description plus the glossary terms it used. Plain Python then checks the work: it may cite only the terms
linked to the column and must cite all of them, it must use each cited term's own words, it must not use a word
the glossary says to avoid, and it must not state a number the profile, the table context or the linked
definitions do not hold. The check is ordinary Python, never a second AI call. Passing descriptions go to the
owner in a review file. Only an approval (or the owner's own edit, checked the same way) is written into the
table as a DuckDB column comment.

    pip install duckdb anthropic
    export ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=... # or LOOP_ANTHROPIC_API_KEY
    python3 glossary_descriptions.py --data-dir fec-data --demo-owner # live run: downloads, asks, checks, approves
    python3 glossary_descriptions.py --data-dir fec-data2 --demo-owner --replay glossary_descriptions-answers.json
    python3 glossary_descriptions.py --data-dir fec-data3 --demo-owner --replay glossary_descriptions-answers.json --plant-error
    python3 glossary_descriptions.py --data-dir fec-data4 --replay glossary_descriptions-answers.json --decisions owner-decisions.csv
add --strict to exit 1 when anything is caught or refused; add --out <folder> to write elsewhere

--demo-owner plays an invented owner (a role, not a person) who approves every description once and edits one,
so the whole flow runs in one command. In real use owners fill in the review file and you pass their file with
--decisions. --data-dir must be a new, empty folder (the FEC demo downloads into it); with DATA_CSV set it is not used.

Everything the script writes goes to --out (default: the folder this file is in):
glossary_descriptions-answers.json every request and answer (model id, date, prompt, raw answer, tokens)
glossary_descriptions-review.csv one row per column for its owner: the description, the check, blank decision cells
  glossary_descriptions-decisions.csv the invented owner's decisions (--demo-owner only)
glossary_descriptions-approved.csv what was published as a column comment, with who approved it
glossary_descriptions-comments.sql the same comments as COMMENT ON COLUMN statements for your own database
A --plant-error run writes -planted names and never touches the clean run's files.
